Our Story
HappyCPAP was built by people who actually use the equipment. Nick Lee and Edward Lee, the Owners of HappyCPAP, have been relying on CPAP machines for over 20 years. We know the gear, we know the daily routine, and we understand the small details that can ruin a good night’s sleep. We know exactly what it’s like to wake up to annoying air leaks, deal with sudden tears in your tubing, fight with headgear that stretches out and rips, or suffer through the skin irritation that happens when you are forced to stretch a mask’s lifespan past a month.
Because we are users first, we also know exactly how frustrating the current healthcare system has become. Medical costs are skyrocketing, fewer jobs are offering comprehensive health benefits, and even if you do have insurance, you are often stuck with high deductibles and massive out-of-pocket expenses. Life is getting more expensive by the day, and you shouldn’t have to empty your wallet just to afford basic sleep therapy accessories that you need to function.
That is why we started HappyCPAP. We aren’t a massive corporate entity, we aren’t planning an IPO, and we don’t have shareholders breathing down our necks for higher margins. We are an independent, family-run business focused on providing the cost-saving services we always wished we had ourselves.
The Direct-to-Consumer Difference & Why We Skip Insurance
We operate strictly as a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) company. What does DTC mean? It means exactly what it sounds like: we buy wholesale directly from manufacturers and sell straight to you. By cutting out the corporate middlemen, distributors, and retail markups, we drive our costs down to rock bottom. In fact, our pricing is so competitive that you will frequently find our supplies are cheaper than the exact same products listed on Amazon.
Because we are DTC, we also outright refuse to work with insurance providers. Having dealt with the system for two decades, we understand firsthand how the healthcare industry screws customers over with hidden fees, denied claims, and confusing medical bills. To protect you from that nonsense, we keep our billing as simple as humanly possible. You see the price, you pay the price, and your supplies show up at your door. There is no red tape, and absolutely no surprise bills arriving in your mailbox months later.
